Not forgotten. never ever

Sorry for the lack of updates.
Been terribly busy with work, studies and etc
Hope I could breathe a little better now

Am just back from 3 weeks of traveling, sceneries were captivating and I learn a lot throughout the trip
In fact, I think about you even more when I was there.
How i miss your companion during trips
You are my wonderful travel companion I would say, i can be so relaxed and being so myself when I am with you...
gosh i miss those times...

I was browsing through all the emails you left us
I kept an archive for all of them.
some were so funny
some were so moving
It moves me into a profound silence with deeper realization and sorrow
I hope i could compile some and share here after some editing

Then, I read your old blog and found this

Places I love to travel most...

  • Dubai
  • Egypt
  • Europe
  • New York
  • Alaska

  • Japan
  • Paris
sigh, I wish you were with me during my travels

Is close to almost 1 year now since you have left us..

The value of family and let us learn not to take them for granted....

Getting into the fourth day of lunar day, things are slowly swifting back to our daily normal routine - betting into the usual KL traffic, rushing to get into office on time and to complete the numerous deadline.

I remember telling my sister just this afternoon when she expressed her unwillingness to see how fast the lunar new year holiday whisked by. I told her what makes the lunar new year such a special celebration among the chinese community is that this festival comes only once a year and this is the time where every family members reunite.

Only just few days back, I saw a touching Lunar New Year TV commercial broadcasted across Malaysia to heighten the value of family.

The scene shows a 7-old boy, Tan Tiam Hock staring blankly at his classmates, unable to proceed when his art teacher asks the class to draw a reunion dinner scene. Later, we see him waving goodbye to his friends and happily running off.

But, when all alone, his cheery little face crumples. An Indian woman later picks him up from the bus stop and they return “home” to an orphanage. It becomes obvious to the viewer that Tiam Hock was not able to draw a reunion scene because he had never had one.

Titled “Nobody’s Child”, Petronas’ Chinese New Year advertisement carries the tagline, “Please be home for the reunion dinner, if you can.”

After watching this TV ads, I'm really grateful that I have a family to return to for reunion dinner.

For those who are reading this, if you haven't been back home for a long time to visit your parents, please do so. Many would give anything just to experience the joy of a family reunion. "Please be home for reunion dinner, if you can". This Chinese New Year greetings by Petronas is very meaningful. So do embrace the value of family and be grateful for what you have.

I have uploaded the video here for your viewing.

Here wishing everyone a prosperous and blessed Year of Rat.

Sincerely,
Mei Han

12 days before chinese new year

it has been long..
Chinese new year is coming...
do you remember that during this period we usually have finished or partially done with our chinese new year shopping
i still remember you like to buy a lot of clothes for CNY
the priceless expression of your happy and cheerful mood when you found the clothing you like
i still remember you like white colour, resembles purity and innocence..

this year...i have not done any shopping because i am busy with studies
but somehow the pretty clothes, shoes and accessories don't attract me anymore
i miss the times when i shop with you...
the errrrrr comments..when you don't really know how to say it is a bad dress!

may yee, i tried to move on so much...disconnect myself from this page...from anything related to you..and i am sorry i have not visited your grandma
never have i thought..i can never forget you..
everyday...anything, anyhow you cross my mind..unconsciously
and i know one thing...even if people wont understand why??
you are always with me
i will move on but you will never leave me
you will be my silent imaginary companion forever
somehow..i treat this blog as my conversation with you.
i know you read this...

may yee, today my lecturer gave a very good remark
"why do people regret when somebody passed away?
why don't they appreciate them when they are alive"
so trueeee...
yes somehow i regret i have not done my part as a good friend sometimes
but i never regret knowing you
although we argue and grown apart at times
but the times we were together for decades of life...
they are the best moments in my life
we were so true to each other
we share everything and anything...embracing life together..

my soul mate..
you will be forever in my memories
unforgettable and irreplaceable

Another year has passed.....

Happy New Year everyone and especially to you who have been making a frequent stop here to read this dedication.

Year 2007 has drawn it curtains and marked few up & downs in our life. 2007 was the year where Carrie was called home and to me this is first time I experienced the pain of losing someone that I love. It teaches me a lesson to always appreciate what I have and I'm now striving to keep up this responsibility. Life and death is part & parcel of our lives. It begins with us and it ends in us. We only live once and so do live to the fullest.

I once heard everyone of us has a mission to fulfill. Once we have done and completed our task, we will return to eternity life. That will be the day where pain, unhappiness and sorrow will permanently remove from us. I believe Carrie and her baby are happy wherever they are now.

Sometimes when I fell hard, I just don't want to continue the race. But life is as such. You bound to go on a bumpy road or perhaps muddy path. Once you have crossed it, the rest of the journey will be a smooth one. I consistently remind myself and that helps me to get back on track.

Life isn't a bed of rose. It's upon your call how you want to paint your life. So I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and may 2008 fills you with great happiness.

Regards,

Mei Han

Happy Belated Birthday Dear Friend

Happy belated 29th birthday dear sweet Carrie. How could I possible forgot about this special day? I was so tucked up with work at office and things just got to my way. Wish you an eternal happiness and to your little one.

This year is so different from those years. I wish I could just lay out everything here and tell it out. Christmas 2007 will never be the same without you.

Love you always,

The Chinese Temple where her altar resides

Some of you may not have the chance to pay the last respect during her funeral.
Although her urn is placed in Nirvana Memorial Park, Semenyih, her altar with her photo is placed at a chinese temple in Ampang.
The chinese temple is just infront of the LRT AMPANG (LAST STATION) and near to police station Ampang. If you are driving there you could just park at the LRT carparks beside the temple. Just a very short distance walk to the temple.

If you are going there, you could just bring some fruits and if you would like to pray, just donate RM1 for the incense sticks. If you need further info and if you are going there and need a guide (i can accompany you if i am free on the day) email me at carriekong78@gmail.com

You are the song inside my soul

I visited grandma in the same hospital you breathe your last breath.
I have mixed feelings before i enter the ward
Sudden feeling of sadness, lost and emptiness swept over me
It was the same feeling on 160707
the day i will never forget in my entire life

The moment i saw your grandma
i felt bit of relief
i felt that you were around somehow
grandma is fine
she has fallen and hurt her hip
no infections or surgeries were needed, only a certain type of corset might be needed to support her body
she is in fact very healthy
she has strong bones, strong teeth and even sharp memory
sharper than mine
i looked around and i saw similar or even slightly elderly women around
some were in deep pain and some were having dementia
in comparison, grandma is really much healthier and stronger than any of these women
but the motivation to continue on is weaker than any of them
you were her only hope to continue on
now that you are gone..she felt nothingness
i could see the emptiness in her stare
the same emptiness i felt or even i feel until today
empty and hollow and gloomy

I have really learn a lot since your demise
I see the beauty of some people who were so supportive and so concern
and i also see the not-so-beautiful side of some
i guess this is life and nature of human
there will be no perfection in life

I am surprised that i started to see things and problems as trivial matters
the things that usually triggers my nerve
has little significance effect to me now
what else could be more important than life or death matter?
good change or bad change?am not too sure

Yesterday, Yin Ping, Ah How, Mei Han and I visited May Yee's "ling wai" at Kuan Yin Temple, Ampang for her birthday.
He exact birthday is tomorrow, 11th Dec.
I miss the time when we all gather around nice ambiance restaurant to celebrate birthday
i really miss the time
i really miss you

May the blessings of the Triple Gem be with you and your baby
